Who we are

We are the Sitcom Archive Deep Dive Overdrive podcast, presented by Alison Barton-Simmons and Eggs Benedict.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Users can choose to contact us via the embedded contact form on our Contact page.

We cannot guarantee we will acknowledge or respond to all enquiries, however we will only use the contact details you provide via our contact form (name; email address) to reply to your enquiry. We will not store your contact information or add you without your explicit consent to our email database.

Mailing List Signup

We offer a subscription to our periodic newsletter via a sign up form and pop-ups on our website at https://saddo.club

We will only ever collect two pieces of personal identification information from you during signup:

  • Your name
  • Your email address

We only collect this information through our embedded forms and pop-ups, except where we run specific giveaways. contests or quizzes which require you to register to our newsletter as a condition of entry.

We collect this data so that we can:

  • Send you periodic email newsletters (no more than four times per calendar year).
  • Email you with special offers on our merchandise products and related projects we think you might like.
  • Notify you of prize winners in relation to a contest or giveaway we are running

We do not collect any personal data from our quizzes other than that outlined above.

Who we share your data with

We do not and never will share your data with any third party except our email newsletter provider service partner (currently Mailchimp) and our quiz tool provider (currently Marquiz) who manage your data securely on our behalf.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Where you provide us with your email address, either via a opt-in form / pop-up; by way of entering a contest, giveaway or as part of a quiz we provide, we will store your personal information securely until such a time as you unsubscribe from our database. Our emails will provide you with a clear and easily accessible way to remove yourself from our database, or to update your details.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.

If you have joined our mailing database, you can request to be removed with immediate effect.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Email addresses will be shared with our 3rd party email newsletter partner (currently Mailchimp) and our quiz tool provider (currently Marquiz).

What third parties we receive data from

As our quiz partner, Marquiz provide us with the personal data of anyone who willingly submits their name and email address to enter any quiz we create using their quizzing platform.
